Worship And Fellowship

Sunday worship consists of singing, praying, listening, and sharing together. Visitors often attend services, so we provide a bulletin and friendly help to guide you through the service. We sing a mix of traditional and contemporary hymns and songs from our hymnal and song-sheets. We pray aloud together and silently individually for the world, our town, and for individuals in need. We listen to choral and instrumental music, and to Hebrew and New Testament scripture, and to newer prophetic voices, as well. Sermons aim to interpret scripture and engage our experience and spiritual growth. We share a free offering to support the work of the church, and every service includes announcements, when we share church and community needs and news. At CUCC, worship is a spiritual practice that helps us to come closer to God and to one another.

Fellowship

Following worship we gather for open fellowship in the Parish House next door. People chat and share coffee, tea, and snacks. Children join their parents at fellowship after Children’s Church. Fellowship is church in action! It’s an active, filling practice of friendship and compassion with stories, laughter, and shared food and drink.

Intergenerational Worship

CUCC offers Children’s Church to children ages 2-7 during worship. This unique program engages children’s sense of the sacred, and practices recognizing God’s goodness in humans and in the natural world. Here children practice wonder and explore their curiosity about our relationship with God and one another. Each Sunday, Children’s Church engages in a liturgy of awe, with prayer, song, shared food, and an offering which children place on the altar in church at the close of worship in the church.

Accessibility

We welcome persons of varying abilities at all services and gatherings. The church is wheelchair accessible, and so are the classrooms and fellowship hall. The sanctuary is equipped with audio amplification.
